TEAM work! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

For our American friends who celebrated President's Day yesterday, we got to celebrate FAMILY Day! I don't even remember when they started that day or why. Was it because we needed a stat holiday in February, and Valentine's didn't cut it?

AH -- If you check the history, it started in the province of Alberta in 1990 to recognize the importance of the home and family of their founding pioneers, and it has been adopted by most other provinces since. We've had Family Day in Ontario since 2008.

Oh, you will be sick of me talking ...

Shopping for fabric! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

We have heat again! We had heat in the house, but it wouldn't go above a certain temperature. The technician was shortly after eight and made several adjustments, and YES - I needed to clean the filter. It amazes me that since we now lease the furnace, the company is NOT pushing down our throats to have it serviced. When we owned the furnace, they were on us like a dirty shirt to have it serviced twice a year. I'll be making some notes in my calendar to get that done.

Furnace repair in action

And it's probably ...

A test walk from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I've been up for HOURS! And thank goodness because it's taken me this long to get the two presentations done for this morning! Oops -- just had to delete all the July Zoom recordings to ensure there would be room for August recordings. OK --- all the pictures are taken, edited, and loaded. I'm ready! I'm kind of excited as well! I haven't had a Zoom class in a while -- I miss EVERYONE!

Despite that massive list of things to do before I leave, I think I crossed one thing off yesterday! At this rate, I won ...

Back to back to back from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

So before I tell you all about the back, let's talk about the firsts!

As you are probably aware, I love to find geocaches. Now I'm not a huge geocache person as I haven't hit 600 yet, but I like to do it from time to time. And it's something fun to do in a location you are visiting. As with all things I love, there are many ways to measure what you do - the number of caches you find, the level of difficulty, the size of the container, and many other things. One thing that ...

Quilt backings from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Those darn pictures arrived in my inbox about an hour late. That rarely happens! Oh well, you know me and technology - some days I'm smoking, and other days, I'm cold.

Let's start with the missing photos from yesterday!

Here are the running shoes and the ones on the left - the old ones look in excellent shape - slightly dirty, but in good condition.

The old and the new

However, look at the bottoms! They are pretty worn - as a matter of fact, they are totally worn out. That was three months' worth of walking, so about 1,000 ...

The Virtual Retreat from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

OK -- I promise that tomorrow, I'll get started on all the homework photos. I have things to share with you from the Virtual Retreat.

What fun we had! We got to meet Barb from Maryland!  Lots of familiar faces that stretched across the country and over to Germany. We discovered MANY things, including there's an imposter amongst us! That's all I'm going to say about it, except that we had a good laugh over it.

We talked about everything and anything, including the FitBit and what it tracks and do they do anything with the data ...

Quilt backings from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

You know how you have a project that just seems to go on forever? This current magazine quilt appears to be that quilt. I'm happy to say that the top is completely together and is waiting on the long arm to be loaded later this morning.

There are many colored little squares in it, and I swear, the more I tried to keep the colors separate, the more they gathered together. I didn't change any of the squares around, and actually, something interesting appeared because of this. Sorry - I can't share it with you. I should take ...

Google is everywhere from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I had such a great day yesterday! I felt like I could tackle the world, and while I didn't solve any global issues, I accomplished loads! Had some great conversations with the Long Time Gone class, and well - it was a great day! Let's see what happened.

Oh, first - I want to share some walking stuff. Here's the thing about the virtual challenges -- I'm learning TONS about the geography in the areas in which I walk. I'm currently walking the Appalachian Trail, which goes through the mountains along the eastern part of the United States ...

I'm so excited!! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

It was the MOST AMAZING day yesterday. It was our UFO meeting and the weather cooperated so almost everyone was here. We have a super dedicated group of people and they are getting work DONE. That's what it's all about and at the end of the year, if they've all been good, they get their money back. Nothing like some incentive to get you motivated. I'll share all the pictures tomorrow when I have a wee bit more time.

Hey - I'm motivated as well!! Big time and I want to try and keep that momentum ...

Back to work from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Hmmm -- I had a great day yesterday, but here's a mystery to ponder. We are doing our virtual challenge and as a result, I can see the number of miles logged by each day by our little group of four. I just eeked out 10,000 steps in the day. Shelly took a walk so I get where she got her miles, but Laura???  What did Laura do to get her miles yesterday??  I'm impressed Laura - keep it up. It just means that I'm going to have to up my game!

It's a new week and ...
